The Horst Brandstätter Group has taken a major step forward in the planned reorganisation of the PLAYMOBIL business unit. Following intensive negotiations within the framework of a conciliation committee, the company has reached an amicable agreement with the works council on the reconciliation of interests and social plan for the restructuring measures announced in October 2023.
Since the announcement of the operational change and the start of negotiations, the staff reductions for the Dietenhofen and Zirndorf sites have been realised in a socially responsible manner. The staff reduction measures as part of this restructuring plan have therefore been completed. In order to avoid redundancies, the parties have agreed to create a pool of employees who will provide seasonal and cross-location support in the areas of production and logistics.
The measures are an important step towards future-proofing the group of companies and remaining successful in the long term. The ‘Heading into the future’ strategy presented at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg is having a positive impact on current business.With innovative products, new co-operations and additional target groups such as toddlers and kids, the traditional brand, which is celebrating its 50th birthday this year, is being made fit for the future.
